Put-Up or Shut-Up Conservatives: Start a Conservative Party

The conservative establishment had a wonderful chance to put a true conservative candidate such as Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter, or Ron Paul into the presidential forefront. Yet, their unfortunately predictable tendency to stray into political one-upmenship against liberals, and fear-induced marginalization of their own, ruined any chances of this.

Winning against liberals became more important than what they would be winning. Putting a Republican liberal into the White House yields no different outcome than loosing to a card-carrying Democratic liberal, yet the conservative establishment didn't care that their victory would be a rotten fish wrapped inside a dusty newspaper – did I mention the New York Times endorsed John McCain?

Conservates such as Sean Hannity marginalized true conservative candidates.

Websites like HotAir dissed conservative candidates.

Fox News skewed their coverage away from conservative candidates.

Even organizations like vdare and NumbersUSA, which champion conservative causes like no others, shied away from explicitly backing a conservative candidate. Their own tax structure forbids directly backing candidates.

Whether it was deliberate disdain, passive neglect, or legal restraints, the conservative establishment's lack of pin-point focus let conservatives down.

So, what can we do now?

"Republicanism" betrayed us. The two party system strangles us with fear. We need every member of the conservative establishment to actively support and publicize the creation of a new third party – the Conservative Party.

Every radio station, every blog, every website, every television personality needs to actively promote this new cause. Being an independent voter, as I am, isn't a good enough solution. It isn't focused enough. Independent liberals and independent progressives join our ranks and dilute our focus. We need a conservative party, a party that can vote out any candidate that strays from a set list of conservative principles, to focus our efforts with laser precision and defeat blind Republicanism and loony liberalism once and for all.

Whose name will go into the history books as being the father and mother of the Conservative Party?

I know one thing; history forgets those who sit back and do nothing.

Free At Last?

I thought that we had pierced the heart of racism in the early fifties when music and hand dancing transcended racial barriers. However, and justifiably so, dancing and music weren't unraveling segregation fast enough for some.

Politicians ruled to shuffle the skin color of our children by bussing them to different and distant schools. Civil rights marches began in the South with locked arms and a series of plagiaristic parables about all men being created equal, inalienable rights, mountain tops and "Free at last, free at last."

Above all, the bravest of foot soldiers was Rosa Parks who refused to sit in the back of a public bus, students who bucked the odds entering an all white school in Selma Alabama, and Rodney King who profoundly asked, "Can't we all just get along?"

Discouragingly, byproducts of this movement were the likes of Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson who constantly associate current whites with the black days of slavery, and forever carry the banner of reparation.

Equally egregious are politicians who run for the office of President of the United States and negate the progress of racial harmony by segregating Americans into voting blocks of black, white, Hispanic, male, female, young, old, gay and pet owner. In all, it's the racial and gender epitome of segregate and conquer.

Knowing what the value of racial separation means to race baiters and block voting, I fear that the enthusiasms to make Obama President of the United States is a futile plea by whites to be, "Free at last, free at last."
