2007 In Review
by Bucktowndusty

Looking back on 2007 I realize that it wasn't Republicans in Congress that did anything to solve our immigration problems and it sure as hell wasn't the Democrats. It wasn't big name pundits in Washington that get on Fox News and triangulated the issue, and it wasn't any of the 2008 presidential candidates of either party that did anything that truly mattered.

No, it was the blogger who blogged on weekends and wasn't scared to speak the truth about immigration that woke up his fellow Americans.

It was the journalists at places like vdare.com that wrote hard hitting truths in each and every article that embarrassed main stream media outlets enough to get them to follow suit and talk about the issue – slanted yes, but coverage nonetheless.

It was radio talk show hosts like Terry Anderson that pays enough attention to bring to our attention what needs to be said each and every week that set the tone for what was hot in 2007.

It was NumbersUSA and their army of grassroots citizens that brought this issue from out of the shadows of our leaders' minds.

Through these efforts we were able to stymie attempts to bring about America's cultural demise faster that it would have otherwise.

But, make no mistake; we are still in some hot water.

If we continue on the course we presently are on, in one generation America will not resemble the America we know today.

Americans don't appreciate their cities, culture, and daily lives transformed before their eyes and having politicians tell them how mean they are if they don't like it. I believe that 2007 represented the last year that people will tolerate this issue only being debated and not solved.

A Rosetta by Any Other Name
by A. Hamilton

Rosetta Stone. Sounds like a fast action, high adventure story about the search for a mysterious jewel.

Actually, Rosetta Stone is a language peddling company that claims to be able to teach anyone, with a little common sense, how to speak any foreign language, such as, Greek, Arabic, Mongolian, Russian, Chinese or backwater Amazonian. They say, "it's so easy, it's like having your own personal instructor."

Rosette Stone advertises nationally on network and cable television at very frequent intervals, this, at a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

It occurs to me that there are not that many Americans who want to learn Greek, Arabic, Mongolian, Russian, Chinese or backwater Amazonian to justify the enormous cost of advertising. Therefore, there must be some other cost effective reason for this endeavor.

A hint may be in one of the testimonials given by a woman who declares, "I needed to know how to speak Spanish for my job."

Hint hell! It's blatant. That, my friends, is the primary target of Rosetta Stone - to assimilate English-speaking Americans into a Spanish culture.

It seems to me that if Rosetta Stone had any sense of patriotism they would run the advertisement in Spanish and have the testimonial by that woman declaring, "I needed to know how to speak English for my job."
