Reservation Nation
by Bucktowndusty

One of the dumbest reasons not to secure our borders or halt immigration has to be the argument that since we stole America from American Indians we have no right to defend it. Yet, this argument is the exact reason why we SHOULD defend America.

I’ll agree that having such a desire to defend our nation may be hypocritical, but it’s also smart. The American Indians are proof positive that failing to defend your borders and control immigration can lead to loosing your nation completely.

What would these critics of immigration reduction rather have? Would they be happy living on a reservation just so they could wear their “I’m not a hypocrite” badge? Would they also tell us we can’t demand from our children that they not do drugs or drink alcohol because we once did ourselves? This line of reason is silly.

These same people who think it’s hypocritical to defend national borders do so with personal borders. Locked doors and windows on their own houses attest to their own hypocrisy, not ours.

No, I’ll wear my hypocrite badge proudly. For now, I do so within the confines of a country, not a reservation, and I’ll do my best to assure that this doesn’t change.
